Can you be a hotel manager with a management degree?

I am deciding what college to go to...I am looking at a few college...the one that I want to go to has Management Degrees but I want to be a hotel manager... I was wondering if I could be a hotel manager with a business management degree..Can you be a hotel manager with a management degree?
I'm pretty sure you can. A hotel is a business, My niece was working in hotel management and her degree is in American History.





She found it wasn't for her, and got a job with a construction company and is now going back for a second degree in construction management.





I believe a lot of the courses you would take, like marketing and accounting, are applicable to the hotel industry, but I do believe there are also elective courses you can take specifically geared toward the travel and hospitality industries.





Check out the courses in the schools you are interested in. There will always be hotels around, and even in this economy the hotels are booked by businesses and travelers alike.Can you be a hotel manager with a management degree?
