Hotel manager?

about how many years of college would it take to become a hotel manager?

is this career field better than nursing?

pros and cons?Hotel manager?
there are lots of pros and cons to this field... Depending on where you go to school it usually takes a four year degree however I would also start working in a hotel because there you'll find out the real stuff the book stuff is out of touch with the real world at least I think so.. and not only that one thing when you get out of school is that you won't really have a job and settle for the low man on totem pole problem...

Don't get me wrong, though it is rewarding and I've been doing this for 11 years now... I do have a degree but it is in accounting.. There will always be a need for managers because most get fried due to owners putting too much pressure on the bottom line...

Good luck to you in what ever it is you do....

if you need more info let me knowHotel manager?
You can get a degree in hospitality management. Which would most likely be required by a larger hotel. The below link contains all sorts of information that you will find very helpful. %26amp; will answer probably all of your questions.

I'd take the salary ranges w/a grain of salt. They are just averages %26amp; highly subjective to your location %26amp; type of business. for instance, you will probably make a lot more working at a 4 star hotel in a larger city than a lower end chain hotel in a tiny town. Same goes for nursing. %26amp; with nursing it depends on the specialty also.

Ha ha ha. Sorry I just think its funny because my cousin was taking one of those ';future career'; test thing just the other day and she said everytime she takes one it says Hotel Manager and Bed and Breakfast owner. We think its a sign.

But you might not even need school for it. You can probubly start entry level and work your way up. Then you would know the lay of the land before hand. And I think its better then nursing, but I dont like touching people so its more a personal preference.
