What are factors (skills and qualities) do you expect a good hotel manager to possess?

I am one,

1. Excellent customer skilles

2. Basic Managemnt Skills

3. Flexible in terms of availability

4. Work well with a variey of different people

Sounds a little basic, but thats what it is.What are factors (skills and qualities) do you expect a good hotel manager to possess?
People skills are a must, when working in the hotel business you will have to meet the needs of a diverse group of people, and being able to adjust to those needs while remaining professional is not an easy thing for everyone. Also remembering to delegate tasks to the right person for the job is good, this will ensure that the job is done and done right the first time. So if you can do these things already you are in good shape. hotel managers often have to deal with budgeting as well so brushing up on your skills in that department wouldn't hurt. all in all though if you are an approachable, assertive professional you'll do great. What are factors (skills and qualities) do you expect a good hotel manager to possess?
A positive, upbeat personality, intelligence, tactfulness in handling tough situations, generosity, respectfulness, analytical skills, firmness, and level headedness, and overall pleasantness. A big plus would be charisma that enables the manager to make other employees and guests feel special. I know that sounds corny, but when a manager can make someone feel unique or somehow set apart and special in a good way, it seems to be helpful.
must have an excellent control of costs. A hotel can lose a lot of money though slack management. A lot of food and drink can be wasted or stolen. The key is efficiency, maintain a good level of quality but always know the price.

with staff the manager needs to be fair but ruthless. No favourites. One bathroom left dirty lets the whole side down.
being patient, remain composed and calm in emergencies, level headed, responsible, organized, strong ( not a door mat), talkative, respectful....
