well it depends on your contract and what you mean by a percentage. If you were hired as a manager at lets say $30,000 a year then no. You are a base salary employee, but lets say you get $12.50 an hour plus 5% of all new reservations you personally bring in then yes. I am sure your contract is negotionable but don't get greedy if you take the latter they can always cut your hoursI am a hotel Manager and I would like to know my rights specially financially?
The second answer is right. I never heard of a hotel manager getting a percentage of anything. You are an hourly or salaried employee whose job duties involve supervising others.
You are an employee. You were hired on for a specific job, for a specific rate. That's what you have a right to be paid. Nothing more. Now, if the owners are looking for a partner then perhaps you can buy into the hotel and receive dividends.
They have no obligation to pay you bonuses or cut you in on the profits (assuming there are any - would you want to pay a portion of the losses too?)
You deserve to be paid, and to be treated with respect, and nothing else. And in return you should respect the owners business and help to protect their investment which is connected to your pay check.
