I think it's sad that people have nothing better to do than cause problems for others, even though it really doesn't concern them.I know a hotel where the Manager's nephew is under 21 and working in a bar,who do I call?
Laws are in place for a reason, and if you come upon knowledge that a law is being broken it is not ';nosy'; or ';gossipy'; to report it. Let's say that the law does state that you have to be 21 or older to serve alcohol in California (as it does in my state). What if this nephew is 19 and decides to serve a bunch of his 19 year old friends one night, and they get on the road and kill somebody or themselves? I for one would feel real bad if I had a chance to stop this and didn't.

If everything is on the up and up then the business owner (the hotel manager in this case) has absolutely nothing to worry about. One of our sister hotels had a complaint against it, filed by a guest, because the guest thought the ';girl serving me looked a little young';. He provided a name, so the investigator carded her a couple of weeks later. She was over 21, and her record was clean. No laws broken, and nothing kept on record about the incident. Complaints and misunderstandings happen to businesses all the time. It's no big deal, if laws aren't being broken.
You will need to contact The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control 213-833-6043. Before you stick your nose in any further be sure the nephew is in fact under 21. If he is under 21, is his job legal for his age under CA statutes. In some states it is legal for an 18 year old to serve liquor.





If you are wrong, prepare to look for another job.
